It's silver

Massive congratulations to Shelley Rudman for winning a silver medal in the women's skeleton at the winter Olympics. Though she was fastest in practice, on paper she was not one of the fancied runners. Lying 4th after the first slide she improved to second and briefly help onto the gold medal position before the number 1 rated Maya Pederson, took it off her. The full story can be found here at BBC Sport

This is a really refreshing story for British sport, I hope now that Shelley can go onto get the sponsorship she deserves, to give her a really crack at the gold medal in four years time. I would hate to be sitting here in four years having to listen again to how her local community had to rally round to raise the cash because no-one form British sport could come up with some sponsorship for her.

Keep up the good work Shelley, we will be keeping an eye on your very promising career.
