World Cup Countdown - Group F

Brazil - Croatia - Australia - Japan

Two weeks ago this would be one of the easiest groups to call, with Croatia trailing second behind the might of Brazil. This would leave Australia and Japan fighting for third place and some sort of respectability. However all this has changed after the performance Australia put in against a very strong Holland team.

Were they skilful and threatening, not at all. In fact, they were downright dirty, kicking themselves to a one all draw. When their coach, Gus Hiddink (ironically a Dutchman), was questioned about their tactics, he insinuated that this was their game and if anything they would be getting harder for the World Cup. So Brazil and Croatia beware, a team has arrived to kick you off the park.

As a England supporter, I would love to see Ronaldinho and co take a damn good kicking and wind up in the semi finals hobbling. As a neutral, there is a potential for the whole World Cup to be ruined by mindless Aussie thugs. The only question to answer will be, can they take it and are they too skilful for the Aussies. Well Brazil definitely are, but the Croatians may not be. However, the Aussies may not have enough players left to trouble Croatia. The group will finish in this order:

1. Brazil
2. Croatia
3. Australia
4. Japan
