How good were Arsenal?

Having sat upon a deep hatred for Arsenal stemming back to an FA Cup Quarter final defeat 17 years ago, I couldn't help but be impressed by the manner of their victory over Italian giants Juventus last night. What was more remarkable about this victory was that it proved once and for all that Arsene Wenger know his players inside out. Many criticised him at the start and through this season for letting Patrick Viera go, but as seen by the performance of Fabregas last night it was exactly the right thing to do.

The question will be can Arsenal actually go on to win the Champions league. Based on their last three performances it is a strong possibility. Arsenal have not performed at their best in Europe since maintaining their spot in the Champions league every year. They have never reached the semi-finals and they may never have a better chance to. I think a lot of this is down to the manager, he has in most sacrificed the league campaign this year to help rebuild his team, and right now they are with perhaps one exception playing the best football in England. I also think they are enjoying being the only British club left in the competition instead of being the more favoured English side. Their league form has led them to being underdogs for this campaign and they are making the most of it. Here's to a successful Italian job next week and an even better semi-final performance.
